Alice in Wonderland Birthday Party

I am so excited to finally share with you all details about Bentley’s first birthday party! This theme would be perfect for a little girl, especially for the first birthday. Setting up the area was fun and the party ended up being a blast! Without further ado let me share with you how we created, “Bentley in ONE-derland.

Bentley is so curious and is always getting into EVERYTHING. I knew Alice in the wonderland would be a perfect theme for her, so one of the first things I did was create an inspiration board and started pinning color schemes, games and décor that I thought related to the theme to help bring my vision together.

Let’s start from the beginning. I exhausted my search engine on the perfect alice in wonderland outfit! I found both of Bentleys dresses from Etsy. I decided to buy two different dresses because we had her cake smash scheduled for the weekend before the party and I knew she would stain the dress. Pictured below is the dress we used for her cake smash photos (top) and the dress she wore at her party (bottom). Are they not so precious!? And I must say, the quality of her cake smash dress was amazing. That dress was covered with cake, I’m talking COVERED, I washed it on delicate and bam! good as new.

Dress: Knotted Wear use code KWKFREESHIP for free shipping on her site until the end of the year!

Dress: ForEverlyCouture use promo code: KAYLEE to get 20% off any of her items!

And of course, we had to make sure Bentleys cake was appropriate for the festivities. If you live in Orlando you should use Cake Lady for all your custom cakes. She made this perfect Alice cake and I mean, come on, seriously, this is JUST like the actually cake from the movie. She also made the cake for the actual party. Both shown below.

Because we live in Florida and the party was in August, we knew our guests would mostly want to stay indoors. I found most of the decorations from hobby lobby, etsy and the rest were normal everyday house decorations. I made a "Tweddle dee" by painting a flower pot red with a tie, adding a foam ball on top with dum dums put into it and then just adding a red hat on top. Woohla! I sat up the dinning room as the “tea table” and that is where we all ate. We set up food along the kitchen counters and placed the cake on the island.

For lunch, I went the casual BBQ route with pulled pork, pasta salad, chips, beans and fruit. For dessert we had pink waffers that I drizzled with purple icing as "cheshire cat tails" (found that lovely idea via pinterest), fruit and doughnuts. But, of course I had to encourage the theme along with the food so I created labels. Queen of hearts pulled pork, tick tock salad, caterpillars chips, flamingo fruit, and white rabbit powered doughnuts.
